Lamborghini Estoque Four Door Beats Competition, Almost

In a world where all the best auto manufactuers are coming out with their own four-door, Lamborghini has risen to the top with the Estoque, almost. Headed for production in 2011 the Lamborghini Estoque will cost just under $190,000 and will come with a wide range of engine options including diesel. Compare the Estoque to Porsche’s Panamera or Audi’s A7 and it most definately comes out on top. However, the Koenigsegg four-door still has Lamborghini beat out with a 700hp engine, even though the price point is slightly higher at $540,000.

The Estoque will come with a V10 500hp, 450lb of torque engine most likely around 5.2 liters. Lower down V8 versions may include a super diesel and hybrid, apparently even Lamborghini is feeling the pressure to bring down their emmissions. The Estoque’s looks far surpass that of the Porsche Panamera, which slightly resembles a station wagon even with 9ff’s tuning.

Lamborghini R&D boss Maurizio Reggiani comments on the engine options for the Estoque: “We will never offer our super-sports cars with diesel engines,” Reggiani said, “and we will never resort to turbocharging for those cars either; to do either would betray our heritage and customers, and for Murcielago and Gallardo we can make the savings in other ways. But the opportunity is there to develop a turbocharged, maybe even a diesel engine for Estoque, and since the car could be well-priced and could sell in quite large numbers for us, it’s a big chance for us. No Lamborghini will ever emit 120g/km, but still we have to improve our figures and make progress.”
